ASHLAND, Ore. — SOU students are showing off their feats of engineering and creativity. It’s all part of the Southern Oregon Arts and Research, or SOAR week.
The school says it’s an opportunity for students to demonstrate work they’ve been doing throughout the year. Tuesday’s demonstration was the launch of a hexicopter, a six-bladed aerial drone built by the students.
The school says it’s just one of roughly 800 demonstrations throughout the week. Those range from engineering feats like the hexicopter, to dancing and music, and even research on local issues like homelessness, food consumption and birth control.
