[UPDATE] SOLVE announced that the Fall Beach Cleanup, scheduled for Saturday, September 28, will be postponed at all sites along the Oregon Coast due to the extreme weather conditions being forecast by the National Weather Service.
The SOLVE Beach and Riverside Cleanup will go ahead at all of the inland sites this Saturday. Anyone who had planned to go to the beach is invited to join in at one of these sites and can find the list of available locations on the SOLVE website.
[PREVIOUS STORY] MEDFORD, Ore. — Nearly 3,000 volunteers are preparing to clean up local waterways.
Stop Oregon Litter and Vandalism or SOLVE will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Oregon’s public beaches and rivers by picking up state parks, neighborhoods and shorelines.
More than a dozen organizations including state agencies and local businesses team up with the Oregon Lottery to make the event possible.
Volunteers will work on Saturday at Bear Creek Park on East Barnett and Highland in Medford and in Shady Cove from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Casey State Park and Touvelle State Park.
