Soldier Sign Goes Up on Highway 34

jri-soldier-sign-250x250BENTON COUNTY, Ore. — A highway sign honoring a fallen soldier has finally been put up.

ODOT put up the sign in honor of Tyler Troyer on Highway 34. The Tangent man was killed while serving in Iraq.

Troyer’s family says the sign will help educate the public about our heroes and keep their memory alive, along with helping to bring some healing to those closest to him.

Troyer’s family has been working since 2012 to get the sign put up.

Another sign for Spc. Eric McKinley is scheduled to go up soon.

The sign clearly states that he was a U.S. Marine. A Marine is a Marine not a soldier. Please educate yourself and give him the proper respect.
