ASHLAND, Ore. — Going green with solar power can save a lot of money, but it can be expensive at first, which is why a local company is trying to help small businesses take advantage of millions in federal funding.
Right now, millions of dollars in federal grants are up for grabs for small rural businesses interested in going solar. Ashland-based “True South Solar” hosted a free workshop Thursday night to help business owners.
“Here in Oregon, we have received more solar grants than any other state in the nation, which is very exciting, we work very hard in this program to help rural small businesses farms and ranchers succeed with solar,” said grant writer Elizabeth McNanny.
The money from the grant is a reimbursement that comes after the solar power system is installed and inspected.
