SALEM, Ore. — Due to the extreme snow in northern Oregon, the state legislature has closed down for the rest of the week.
The majority of business in the capitol building in Salem wrapped up around 1 p.m. The Oregon House and Senate said they were concerned about public safety with the snowfall and possibility of ice on roads.
All of Friday’s committee meetings and floor sessions have been canceled. However the Oregon capitol expects to remain open during regular business hours.
