MEDFORD, Ore. — Around 7 p.m. on Sunday, fire crews responded to calls at Food For Less in Medford. Fire officials say it started inside a fryer. The burn did not spread.
Fire crews were responding to a grass fire at the intersection of South Stage Road and Bellinger Lane at the time of the Food For Less fire.
Fire investigators are planning to inspect the equipment at the store. Thick smoke spread through the building. No injuries were reported. Fire officials say one pregnant woman was examined by medical responders after the incident.
Health officials approved the store’s re-opening Sunday evening. The deli department is currently closed.
