MEDFORD, Ore. — The smoky air outside is making it difficult for some people to get in their exercise routines.
Some say running and exercising outside is just too miserable right now. A manager at OZ Fitness says since the fires, he has seen more people at the gym than usual for the summer months. He says the gym allows members to get in their routines, without risking their health.
“During the summertime a lot of our members tend to do a lot more outdoor activities but just due to the smoke a lot of them I’d say maybe an increase of about 25 to 30 percent of our existing members,” said Assistant General Manager Ronald Hanson.
Hanson says some of the popular equipment right now is the bikes and treadmills. It allows members to keep their normally outside routines to the inside.
