MEDFORD, Ore. — A special event was held Thursday for women who have served in our armed forces.

“Sisters in Arms” was the theme of this year’s Women Veteran’s Tea, held at the Inn at the Commons in Medford.

More than one hundred fifty people attended the event, most of them female veterans representing every branch of the military. It was an opportunity for women from different generations and different backgrounds to share a common experience.

“We can all get together and share our experiences and stuff, yes. This should happen once a year, we should have this, we should have more events like this,” said Sheila Quimby, who served in the Army.

The Women Veterans Annual Tea is sponsored by the Southern Oregon V.A. Rehabilitation Center and clinics.
