Californians headed to the polls Tuesday. The results still have to be certified.
The vote for County Supervisor – District 1 was Brandon Criss, with more than 62% of the votes. District 2 went to incumbent Ed Valenzuela with more than 70% of the votes.
Grace Bennett also re-elected to District 4 seat on the board of supervisors. Yreka elected both Bryan Foster and David Simmem to serve on their city council.
Probably the most anticipated vote was on Measure M, whether chickens should be allowed in Yreka’s city limits, that failed with more than 51% voting “No”.
Measure N, concerning a special tax for the Dunsmuir Library passed with just over 50%. More than 60% of Siskiyou County voters say no on Prop 29, which would increase cigarette tax by nearly a dollar a pack.
