Shooting Possibly Gang-Related

MEDFORD, Ore. — Medford Police are investigating gun shots fired in a west Medford neighborhood Tuesday night and say the incident is possibly gang-related.

Around 8:20 p.m., Medford Police say someone in a car shot three rounds out toward the street. Police believe the shooter was disputing with a rival gang living in that neighborhood.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting  but say the shooter could be facing serious charges.

“We’re looking at charges of attempted murder and when it comes to gangs, this type of behavior, there really is no tolerance. So, we’re really going to charge them with everything we can,” said Medford Police Lt. Mike Budreau.

Police located the vehicle, but say that is no longer of interest in the investigation.
