MEDFORD, Ore. — 23,000 pounds of food will soon be sorted at several food banks. It is all courtesy of the Sherm’s Food 4 Less and Thunderbird Markets.
24 food banks will be benefiting from the semi-truck full of non-perishable food donations. It a tradition the owners do every year for people in the Rogue Valley. This is their 10th year participating.
“ACCESS got a really good program. They give to the needy and we do have a lot of needy ones around. We can help a little bit we surely will,” said President Sherm Olsrud.
The ACCESS program director says the organization provides around 60,000 pounds of food every week to families in Southern Oregon. The 23,000 pounds will provide for one to 2,000 families.
