[UPDATE: 9:13 P.M.] — The Oregon Department of Forestry confirmed there are several fires that began on Monday evening. The largest burning in the area is the Old Blue Fire that fire officials estimate is about 40 acres burning near Foots Creek Road. Air resources were used on the fire including helicopters and tankers until sunset, and ODF says there will be crews on the fire all night. Crews are expected to work at least all day tomorrow, and officials estimate the crews will continue to work on the fire for a few days. There is no word yet on containment.
There are six other fires that are all burning less than two acres in the ares as well.
MEDFORD, Ore.– Valley residents may be seeing smoke in the area because of several small fire reports. Medford Dispatch officials say there is reports of fire West of Jacksonville and in Gold Hill near Foots Creek. These fires are reported to be smaller than an acre.
