Senate Approves Assistance for Schools

Senate Approves AssistanceSALEM, Ore. — Oregon’s schools are getting some much needed assistance from the state. The senate approved a $6.75 billion budget for the 2013 to 2015 school years.

Previous budget cuts caused overcrowded classes and teacher layoffs. Now, many schools are expected to bring back non educational activities like P.E., music and art.

The bill now goes to the Oregon House of Representatives for a vote.
