NEAR YREKA, Calif. — The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to search for a missing Portland woman who was last seen two days ago along a river access point on Highway 96 near Yreka.

On Sunday, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue teams canvassed the area where 27-year-old Grace Sabots disappeared.

They searched on foot and in a boat up and down the river looking for any traces of Sabots.  Sheriff’s deputies believe Sabots left her car and wandered into the river.  They say she was alone and possibly distraught at the time.

“If this subject went into the river and she didn’t make it out … we’re hoping maybe she got hung up on something and then we’d be able to see and spot her,” said Lt. Bucky Jefferson with the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies said it’s still unknown if Sabots made it out of the river.  At this time, nobody has seen or heard from her.   She has been entered into the system as a missing person.
