MEDFORD, Ore. — An active search is underway in Northern California for a Medford man who’s been missing since last Friday.
Search and rescue crews in Shasta County are continuing to look for 75-year-old Max McIntosh. His family said they had lost contact with McIntosh so they called police. His car was later found in Shasta County with an empty gas tank. Medford detectives searched McIntosh’s home and do not believe foul play is involved.
“There’s no evidence of a struggle but there’s also no evidence that he was leaving. I mean, everything looked like he had just left. In fact, there was food on the counter like he was preparing to stay there,” said Medford Police Lt. Mike Budreau.
Medford Police say McIntosh does not have a history of mental health problems, but he was acting strange before he went missing. McIntosh told some family members he was going to Missouri and told another friend that he was going to meet a girl in Georgia.
