Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are rolling through the viewing area once again. One cell came right through Medford. The increased surface heating, from the clearer skies this afternoon, allowed for more convection to develop this afternoon and most storms were able to make it over the Cascades into the West Side Valleys. Today’s storms were dropping heavy rain and hail. Now that the sun has set, most of the convection will begin to die down and diminish.
Tomorrow will start off sunny again. As the ground begins to warm clouds will slowly start forming and again we’ll see another round of storms. Tomorrows storms should be confined mainly to the East Side, Cascades, and Siskiyou County but can’t rule out the chance for an isolated thunderstorm in the valleys. High pressure will build in for Friday and temperatures will warm to about 15-20 degrees above normal. By Sunday, a currently strong but weakening cold front will move in from our West, bringing widespread showers.
Thanks for logging on!
