MEDFORD, Ore. – State, county and city law enforcement officers have identified the person who ran from a stolen vehicle after a high speed chase along Interstate 5 between Phoenix and Medford last night.
They are searching for 19 year old Joshua Munoz from Lake Stevens, Washington. He is described as a black male, 5’11″, 153 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes. He has an outstanding warrant for Fail to Appear – Dangerous Drugs that can only be served in Washington State.
It happened Tuesday at just before 10 P.M., Oregon State Police attempted to stop a 2004 Acura TL four-door displaying Washington license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near Phoenix. The driver failed to yield and attempted to elude at high speeds until abandoning the car near E. Barnett Road and Interstate 5. The driver, described as a white male, late teens, wearing a white t-shirt ran from the scene. He has since been identified as a black 19 year old male. An 18-year old female was taken into custody. Police were using thermal imaging and police dogs to attempt to find the suspect.
Law enforcement officials confirm the chase exceeded speeds of 140 MPH.
The vehicle was confirmed reported stolen in Washington State.
