GRANTS PASS, Ore. — On Saturday, a memorial was held in honor of a local man who drowed in the Rogue River. Just hours before the memorial, Joshua Eddy’s body was found on the Lower Rogue River.

Approximately 500 people gathered to say good-bye to 19-year-old Eddy. The Rogue River man was a skilled photographer, and was said to have been trying to take a picture when he fell in the river near Rainie Falls.

Rafters found his body Saturday morning just after 9:30. It took crews several hours to reach and then identify his body. Eddy’s family was notified just before 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening.

“He was fun and he was funny, and was entertaining and he touched everybody that ever met him. Just loved Joshua so much,” said Joshua’s mother, Stacy Eddy.

The family has set up a memorial scholarship at the Alert Academy. Once you are on that site click on “Scholarship Fund” under the “Designation” tab. In comments type in “J.Eddy Scholarship Fund.”
