GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Grants Pass police are searching for a man they say held up a tavern about midnight Monday morning.
According to witnesses, a lone gunman walked into Cody’s Tavern on Northeast Mill Street and forced the bartender to handover cash at gunpoint. Police say a patron called police right after the robbery happened.
“There were still people, there were patrons in the bar. In fact it was a patron that initially called 911. So, subject had entered the bar, had disguised his features somewhat, and demanded cash and fled. So, there are witnesses to it and we’ve taken their statements,” explained Grants Pass Police Detective Sgt. Dan Evans.
Evans says a K-9 unit searched all around the neighborhood and even though police arrived within a couple minutes, they found no sign of the gunman. He’s described as a white male, about five-eight with a thin build, and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
