(CNN) — The massive “Rim Fire” in Northern California continues to burn out of control. Fast-moving flames have devoured more than 125,000 acres and that number will likely rise.
Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in San Francisco city and county as the fire threatens water and electrical resources.
More than 1,800 firefighters are battling the flames from the air and from the ground. The fire is only five percent contained and the cause is still under investigation.
