It’s common during the recovery period for people to not want to be touched or be around others, but trainers for Riding Beyond said horses can help.
“There is a big need for women who are exiting the medical community, having been cured for breast cancer, they still have a lot of issues in their bodies, their psyches, and their spirits,” said Trish Broersma, the founder of Riding Beyond.
On Sunday volunteers learned how to saddle, mount, and train the horse being used for different activities.
The program is still looking for participants for classes in the coming weeks. For more information about the program or how to sign-up click here.
