KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A reward is offered for a man who escaped from jail allegedly with his mother’s help. The Klamath County Sheriff still believes the fugitive is not necessarily dangerous.
25-year-old Kenneth Robert Banes escaped from custody at the Klamath County Detention Center around 5 a.m. Thursday morning. He was in and out of the jail all summer on theft and burglary charges. Thursday, officers arrested Banes’ mother Kathleen Delaney and Syndahl McFarland, accusing them of helping Banes get away.
Sheriff Tim Evinger announced a $1,000 reward for information leading to Banes arrest and said although rare, an inmate’s escape is good opportunity for the community to re-visit security practices at home and at work.
