Residents Adjust After Post Office Fire

6-1 post office

CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. – Cave Junction residents are getting their mail again after a fire destroys the town post office.

Residents lined up at the county building today to get their mail.

They say it isn’t a perfect substitute, but it will do for the time being.

“It’s kind of a tough situation but… we all have to adapt and improvise and overcome to whatever obstacles come our way,” said resident Daniel Heise.

Investigators say the cause of the fire has been determined as arson.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible.

In the meantime, postal employees at the County Building say there is no indication of how long they will have to process mail at the temporary location.
