Another cold evening on tap with lows on the east side and Siskiyou county valleys dipping into the 20s yet again tonight with a Freeze Warning in effect for these areas and a Frost Advisory for west side valleys as well as temperatures will dip into the upper 30s. After a cold start to the day temperatures will rebound back into the 70s for west side valleys and 60s for the east side, still unseasonably cool but warmer than the last two days.
After this break from the rain a disturbance will bring a chance for showers to the coast into Douglas county on Saturday, though most of the rain will be north of our region. This may impact your football plans to either Autzen or Reser Stadiums with a few showers that may be moderate at times and cool temperatures. For now it does look like the system will hit the stadiums at some point, but may stay further to the west and not bring too much rain during the games.
Sunday things change as a strong cold front will arrive with a tap into moisture from the remnants of Typhoon Pabuk. This will have two impacts: heavy rain and damaging winds. We could see 2″ to 4″ at the coast, up to 6″ in the coast range and even up to an inch for west side valleys and 1″ to 2″ in northern California potentially wind gusts up to 60 mph!
Stay tuned to Newswatch12 for the latest on this weekends storm. Thanks for logging on and have a great evening!
