REI Discusses Preparing for the Worst

HikingMEDFORD, Ore. — Experts say when you go out on a hike, you need to be prepared for the worst and the possibility of getting lost.

They say you should always have a plan and a record of your plan that you’ve given to someone staying behind.

Experts also say you should have an idea of the weather and area before you head out, and having a GPS can be a live-saving tool if you do get lost.

REI offers a preparedness class. The next class is Wednesday.
