UPDATE: On August 14, 2012 at approximately 3:35 p.m., Redding Police Department Investigators located Stephen Brian Carver. He was was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant for the murder of his brother, Gregory Allen Carver.
Redding Police say Stephen Carver confessed to being in a dispute with his brother 4 days ago and striking the victim in the head several times with a metal dumbbell. Police say Stephen Carver was later booked at the Shasta County Jail on the listed warrant on $1 million bail.
PREVIOUSLY: REDDING, Calif. — Redding Police are searching for a man who they suspect killed his brother.
On Monday, Redding Police officers were dispatched to conduct a welfare check in the 3500 block of Churn Creek Road, where they found a man dead with a traumatic head injury. Investigators determined through evidence and witnesses that 55-year-old Gregory Allen Carver was the victim of a homicide.
Redding Police say Carter’s brother, 50-year-old Steven Carver, had been living at the residence prior to the homicide. Witnesses told investigators that they had heard a physical disturbance from Gregory Carver’s house and observed Steven Carver fleeing the residence on a bicycle.
Police say Stephen Carver’s whereabouts are currently unknown and they have obtained an arrest warrant for Carver, charging him with murder.
