Record breaking rain deluged the Rogue Valley and other Western Valleys. From 2 to 5 inches of rain fell, with Medford coming in with 2.22 inches in 18 hours, breaking the record for the day. For the month, we have recorded 4.55 inches, which is 1.65 inches above normal. Winds gusted to 105 mph on top of Squaw Peak in the Siskiyou Mountains, while Mt. Ashland received 14 inches of new snow. Additional rain, wind and mountain snow is on the way…with the best chance for heavier rain late Friday and Early Saturday, followed by a very strong storm on Sunday. With all of the precipitation, the ground is saturated and additional rainfall will cause creeks and rivers to rise. With strong winds, trees will be vulnerable to falling down; especially on Sunday.
