ASK THE METEOROLOGIST

Several record were broken on Wednesday, including North Bend and Brookings at the coast from earlier today before onshore flow cooled temperatures there this afternoon. Brookings hit 81, breaking the old record of 73 from 1995 and North Bend hit 82, breaking the old record of 75 set back all the way in 1907! You can find out what other records were broken on my Facebook and Twitter pages!

Thursday will begin the cooling trend, though most inland areas won’t feel much of a difference until Friday. Highs drop about ten degrees from Thursday to Friday and about another 10 Saturday due to the high pressure ridge beginning to flatten out. A weak front will bring a chance for showers Saturday afternoon along and west of the Cascades with increasing showers across the region on Sunday. A few light isolated showers possible Monday with warmer and drier conditions into midweek.

Thanks for logging on and have a great evening!
