High pressure continues to sit over our region — bringing dry weather and summer-like temperatures. Tuesday we broke two records at the Coast, as high temperatures climbed well into the 70’s & even into the 80’s across Curry and Coos County. North Bend broke the 1981 record of 74, reaching 77. Brookings also broke a 1981 record, hitting 81 at the airport & breaking the record of 75.
The easterly winds will again bring warm temperatures to the Coast today. Brookings is already in the mid 70’s at 5:30 this morning. More records will likely be broken into this afternoon, not just as the Coast but inland as well. The warmest day of the week looks to be on Thursday.
By Friday, we begin to cool down although skies will still stay clear. Clouds begin to move in on Saturday, as further cooling occurs, and then showers move in for the second half of Monday along and west of the Cascades.
