Showers fell across the region this afternoon, but most of the shower activity has now moved off to the East. The weather will remain quiet across Southern Oregon through the remainder of the evening, but another system will be moving in come the early morning hours. Rainfall will start along the Coast around 4 a.m. and continue through Memorial Day. This disturbance will be dropping a good amount of rain along the Coast, and even further inland. By about 6 or 7 a.m. inland sections will begin to see the effects of the storm.
Rain showers will be ongoing throughout the holiday, and almost all areas will see rain falling for a large part of the day. The unstable air on the East Side will allow for thunderstorms to develop into the afternoon. By Monday evening, the storm will begin wrapping up and just lingering showers will remain through Tuesday, so I have called for isolated rain showers.
On Wednesday another disturbance will push inland, which will spark another round of showers across the area. This will be weaker than the disturbance that will come through for the holiday, but hey, we’ll take any rain we can get!
Happy Memorial Day!
