ASHLAND, Ore. — Austin Dodge threw seven touchdowns and the Southern Oregon Raiders overcame four first half turnovers as they beat Montana Western 51-16 at Raider Stadium on Saturday.
Much like the Raiders’ game against MSU-Northern, SOU stumbled out of the gate against the Bulldogs. Austin Dodge threw a first half pick, and the Raiders lost three fumbles, but still led 17-16 at halftime. SOU came out on fire in the third quarter, as Dodge connected with Dylan Young on a 28 yard touchdown pass on the Raiders’ first play of the half. After a quick turnover, SOU struck again as Dodge and Young hooked up on a 53 yard touchdown.
Dodge finished the game with 443 yards and seven touchdowns and the Raiders outscored the Bulldogs 34-0 in the second half. With the win, SOU remains tied for first place with Carroll College with a 6-1 Frontier Conference record. The Raiders travel to Carroll for a huge showdown on November 2nd.
