The upper level low that was generating thunderstorms earlier in the week will move into the Intermountain West today. This will keep our weather fairly inactive through Saturday. Only isolated thunderstorms are in the forecast through this time frame.
Areas of smoke and hazy skies are likely for much of the area into the weekend. A pop up storm could develop in Southern Lake County, Modoc and Southern Siskiyou County this afternoon. These areas did see a storm or two yesterday. Elsewhere, it will be quiet with highs in the 80′s and 90′s.
By Sunday, another area of low pressure will stay positioned just off the West Coast. This will again help to bring monsoonal moisture back into our area. Thunderstorms will be widespread in the afternoon hours, and may travel into the Rogue Valley.
