WASHINGTON D.C. — President Obama nominated a new member of his Cabinet today – the first woman to be nominated for a position in his second term.
The President has chosen business executive Sally Jewell to head the Interior Department. Jewell is the president and CEO at Recreational Equipment, REI, which sells clothing and outdoor gear.
If confirmed, Jewell would replace Ken Salazar, who announced that he will step down in March. Jewell said she could not refuse the opportunity to serve her country.
