WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Obama says he will seek authorization from Congress to take military action in Syria.
The Obama administration has accused the Syrian government of using chemical weapons against its own people in the war-torn nation.
The President says he will appeal to members of Congress when they return from summer recess to approve military force against the Syrian regime.
The Syrian government and opposition groups have blamed each other for the use of chemical weapons.
The U.N. collected evidence at the sites of the alleged chemical weapons attacks and is now waiting for the results of lab tests.
