Prescott Park Plan Needs Votes

800px-Roxy_Ann_MadroneMEDFORD, Ore. — Mountain bike enthusiasts are asking for your help. They need online votes to help the group make a new trail system become a reality on Roxy Ann.

The Prescott Park plan adds 25 miles of mountain bike-specific trails, with easy through difficult markings. A helmet company is giving away $100,000 to the winner of the votes. Officials with the Rogue Valley Mountain Bike Association say the city of Medford will be matching that $100,000 if Prescott Park wins the contest.

“When we get the funding together for the Prescott Park, Rogue Valley Mountain Bikes Association will be in charge of all the trail stewardship and maintenance of that project as well and that will not just be the mountain bike trail, we’ll be up there maintaining the hiking trails as well,” said Lewis Hallingworth with the Rogue Valley Mountain Bike Association.

Voting ends April 20th. Click here to be directed to the site.
