MEDFORD, Ore. — A struggling bank that was forced to close nearly a dozen branches in Southern Oregon and Northern California last year is now merging with another entity.
Premier West Bank announced it has merged with Spokane’s American West Bank. The deal is expected to be finalized in April and a Premier West representative says its banks will eventually do business under the American West name. Premier West’s CEO says the additional resources will benefit employees and customers.
In early 2012, Premier West closed 11 branches in our region, including locations in Medford, Klamath Falls and Redding. At the time, the bank said the closure would save nearly $2 million.
