Powder Puff Football Game For Good Cause

On many Saturday nights at Spiegelberg Stadium in Medford, St. Mary’s senior Jake Isola is playing football for the Crusaders. However, on this past Saturday, he donned the headset to coach a team of girls from St. Mary’s against a team from their rival, Cascade Christian.

While the powder puff game was fun and entertaining, the event was held to raise money for the Lupus Foundation of America. Many from the community showed up to support a cause that started when the wife of Isola’s coach was diagnosed with the disorder. In the end, Isola helped raise $2,300.

What a wonderful and touching story about such a remarkable young man. I cannot wait to meet Jake when we come to Medford. Our family thanks him and others for their thoughtfulness and caring. We thank you Jake, and of course we are so proud of our son Jamie.
