Post Office Fire Intentionally Set

Cave JunctionCAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — Fire investigators say the fire that destroyed the post office in Cave Junction was set on purpose. They say there are currently no leads into who may be responsible.

The United States Postal Office is offering up to $10,000 to anyone who has information to help with an arrest.

Now, residents are not only going elsewhere to get their mail, but figure out why someone would want to destroy their post office.

“When you live in a small town like this and something like that happen it really affects all the people you know, it’s almost personal, you know, like it happened to all of us,” said resident Sharon Dykes.

Cave Junction residents who use PO boxes can pick up their mail at the county office across from the former post office, but regular delivery services will be able to continue as normal.

Anyone looking to send mail can do so at the Selma and O’Brien offices.
