Police Standoff in Lincoln City

LINCOLN CITYLINCOLN CITY, Ore. — A police standoff on the Oregon coast ends with one death and one person hospitalized.

On Friday, Lincoln City Police say they received a tip from the FBI that a man and a woman believed to be behind a robbery in Montana were in the Lincoln City area.

Multiple agencies swarmed around the couple Friday afternoon. The man was taken to a local hospital after he allegedly pointed a gun at officers and was hit by a police car.

The woman would not leave the car, threatening to harm herself. During the standoff, Oregon State Police SWAT members arrived, relieved Lincoln City Police from their positions, and continued to try to get the woman out of the car.

Around 9 p.m., the woman shot herself and died. No other injuries were reported.

The male fugitive has been identified by police as 30-year-old Dale Edward Wallace. The deceased female has been identified as 30-year-old Sara Jo Johnson. Police say both are believed to be from the Butte, Montana area and next of kin has been notified.
