Police Respond to Illegal Fireworks

Firework2MEDFORD, Ore. — Medford Police said a 34-year-old man was lighting an illegal mortar when it fell over, shot into a crowd of people and exploded.

Medford Police and medical personnel responded to the 700 block of Rocky Road at about 11:41 p.m. on Thursday, for subjects possibly injured from fireworks. Two children and one adult man were struck and received minor injuries.

Police said the mortar then set a duplex on fire, but the residents were able to extinguish it prior the arrival of Medford Fire and Rescue. The man who lit the mortar was cited and released for Recklessly Endangering and Illegal Possession of Fireworks.

During the evening of July 4th and early morning of July 5th, 2013, Medford Police responded to 135 reports of illegal fireworks. A total of 17 citations were issued for illegal possession of fireworks.

    i agree with point #1. i told them all through the beta they were “dumbing down” vista way too much, trying to be everything to everybody. i also told them they must be using kindergarteners in their usability studies. that’s why i say every version of vista is “vista home edition”, im my opinion.
