Police Investigate Stabbing in Ashland

ASHLAND, Ore. – Ashland Police says a suspect is on the loose after stabbing someone during a fight near the plaza last night.

The fight happened on the corner of Bush and N Main St. just before 11:00. Police say they’re looking for a 6-foot tall, 185 lb., bald, Hispanic male driving a white SUV.

That suspect apparently ran into the victim going opposite directions. Police say witness testimony hasn’t allowed them to figure how the fight started.

“There’s a tremendous amount of drinking going on, so we interviewed several people, and that’s one of the reasons we’re still trying to determine what caused the confrontation between the two groups,” said Police Chief Terry Holderness.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital last night with relatively minor wounds. He was scheduled to be released from the hospital this morning.
