Missing Boy Home Safe

2-9 missing boyMEDFORD, Ore. — Police say 12-year-old Levi Alter is no longer missing. He was located at Crater Lake Ave and Roberts Road in Medford on Sunday, after being reported missing Saturday.

Levi’s family patrolled the streets all day Sunday handing out fliers. This afternoon, Levi and his family reunited at their home.

His mother, Lisa, says it was a huge relief and an end to what was nearly a 24-hour nightmare.

“We were all just holding him and crying,” said Levi’s mother Lisa Zickon. “And he was crying too.”

Sunday morning police activated the “A Child is Missing” system. That means many residents received an automated call with information about the case. That system is offered free to law enforcement agencies across the country.
