GRANTS PASS, Ore.– A police dog helped to track down a man wanted for a felony parole violation. The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety said they got a tip about Robert Hilkey’s whereabouts on Rogue River Highway, late Sunday night.
When they arrived they said Hilkey tried to take off on a bicycle. Despite warnings Hilkey refused to stop. Officers said they were then forced to release a K-9 unit.
Hilkey was treated at Three Rivers Medical Center for minor injuries during the arrest. He is now lodged in the Josephine County Jail on parole violations and interfering with officer charges.
