NEAR SISTERS, Ore. — The Pole Creek Fire burning in central Oregon has now scorched 16,000 acres of land southwest of Sisters, and now residents are getting ready to pack up and leave.
Officials are warning people in the Sisters area to be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice with reverse 911 calls.
The blaze is 10% contained. The Pacific Crest Trail is closed and smoke is expected to remain in the greater Sisters area for several days.
A strong inversion permeated local communities with smoke from the fire.

you know it is realy to bad that the enviromental groops have shut douwn the woods to wood cutting wich cause such devistateing fires like this one what a joke, a great many people are in need of wood to heat there home and get some heating cost relief but the forest sevice and the evironmental groops work hand in hand to keep people out
