An upper trough will continue to push into the Pacific Northwest today bringing even cooler and drier air to the region. This also will move the high pressure in the southwest further east meaning the chance for thunderstorms moves further east with it. Only a slight chance for isolated thunderstorms in Lake and Modoc county this afternoon.
The real story today will be the cooler temperatures with mid to upper 80s for west side valleys and upper 70s to low 80s on the east side! With lower humidities it will also feel more crisp out there, add that to the breezy winds this afternoon and it is going to be feel quite pleasant today. The trough will continue the cooler weather into Saturday and breezy winds. The ridge over the southwest will rebuild into next week, by how much will determine how hot our temperatures get. For now I’m blending the weather models forecasts bringing mid-90s for west side valleys and mid to upper-80s on the east side. Stay tuned to Newswatch12 for updates!
Thanks for logging on and have a great holiday weekend!
