ASHLAND, Ore. — The Ashland City Hall is missing some flowers because they were causing major damage to the building.
Due to incorrect construction, the planter boxes in front of the city hall are causing the front walls to partially collapse. The dirt inside the boxes has been pushing against the building for over a decade, causing the walls to bow out.
Although the city has been aware of the problem for a while, they only began planning this last spring to remove the boxes. Crews have already removed the flowers and plan to take out the concrete blocks by the end of the week. The city does not have an estimated cost of damages yet.
