Medford School District released the following information:
When will schools be closed?
In order to prepare for students while the teachers are on strike, all Medford schools will be closed Thursday, February 6; Friday, February 7; and Monday, February 10. During this time, qualified substitute teachers will be preparing lessons and classrooms for your students.
When will schools reopen?
Selected schools will reopen, running two shifts for students, on Tuesday, February 11.
Where and when will my child go to school?
Students at Kennedy Elementary School will stay at Kennedy, but will attend from 8:00 AM to 12:15 PM. Students will be offered breakfast beginning at 7:30 AM. If your child normally walks to school, he or she will need to arrive at school no later than 7:50 AM.
If your child normally rides a bus to school, please go to https://schools.medford.k12.or.us/BusRoutes to view the new bus schedule for Kennedy Elementary. If you do not have Internet access, please call First Student transportation services at 541-772-1114.
What is the school schedule during the strike?
The following schedule is tentative and may be adjusted at a later date.
Kennedy 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM Students arrive, breakfast served
Students 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM Assembly/Academics
11:30 AM – 12:15 PM Lunch, recess
12:15 PM Dismissal
Will there be after-school care for my child?
The YMCA will not be running after-school programs at the school. Contact the YMCA for more information.
