CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — The principal of Scenic Middle School sent out a letter to parents informing them that two 7th grade students were recently diagnosed with Pertussis, also known as Whooping Cough. The two students were treated with antibiotics and kept out of school for at least five days, as per CDC recommendations.
While the letter acknowledges that most students have already likely received proper immunization against Pertussis, the principal says he sent out the letter as a precautionary measure. The principal letter goes on to say that La Clinica has offered to provide vaccination to students. The number for the Health Center is 541-494-6417.
