Person of Interest Named in Homicide

michael mcdonaldCAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — Investigators with the Oregon State Police have named a person of interest in the death of a Cave Junction man.

Michael McDonald, 60, was taken into custody on two felony warrants and lodged at the Josephine County Jail, but he is not facing additional charges.

Tuesday night, OSP’s Criminal Investigations Division detectives and the Illinois Valley Fire District crew responded to the 200 block of West Millie Street in Cave Junction. Aaron Clouser, 39, was found dead on the road. The woman who found him told NewsWatch 12 he had several stab wounds on his back. Investigators are not confirming the cause of death.

Detectives served a search warrant Wednesday on a home near where Clouser’s body was found. They have not said what they found inside the home.

Clouser’s death is the third homicide in over a week in Cave Junction.
