Pedestrian Killed in Auto Crash

CrashGRANTS PASS, Ore. — On Thursday, a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle while walking in a non-designated crossing area.

Danny Gerald Berg, identified as a transient in Grants Pass, was crossing the Grants Pass Parkway just west of  the intersection of NE Terry Way. Alan Dale Taylor, also of Grants Pass, was driving the vehicle headed westbound on the Parkway. The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to the incident and after the three hour-long investigation, found that Berg had crossed in a non-designated crossing zone, which led to the accident. The accident happened at 7:14 p.m.

Berg was found in the roadway and treated by American Medical Response and Grants Pass Fire and Rescue. He was then transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital where he died as a result of injuries sustained in the incident. Taylor was not injured in the crash and no charges have been filed at this time.
